Maryland Nurse helps pet owners keep their pets healthy and happy
For Merrill Warchal, the establishment of PetStructor was a natural progression in a long career devoted to helping others. She is a Maryland LPN and has provided healthcare for a variety of organizations including hospitals, nursing homes, methadone clinics. and occupational health settings.
Given her experience in the ER and as an EMT for the District of Columbia Fire Department, Merrill knows firsthand how CPR can mean the difference between life and death. As a CPR instructor, Merrill has shared her knowledge to help others save lives. After her semi-retirement from nursing in 2004, she studied holistic treatments for wellness. She became a certified zero balancer and medical reflexologist in 2007. In both capacities, Merrill helps others achieve natural relaxation and balance.
When she was not busy at work and school, Merrill served as a volunteer at a local animal shelter. There she saw the effects of pet neglect, as well as the healing power of loving, humane pet ownership. As a pet advocate, she has rescued dogs and cats, both as a foster parent and pet owner.
I love all animals, especially dogs. Where else can you exit the front door, enter the back door 30 seconds later, and be greeted as though you had been gone for a week? This is pure energy for the soul.
The interconnectedness of Merrill's work led her to create PetStructor, a company dedicated to serving pets and their owners. She believes that happy, healthy pets enrich our lives. Her simple motto, "Advocating for pets by educating owners," reflects her belief that education and good health go hand in hand.
